Christmas Morning

I know, I know, blogging about Christmas in February is ridiculous, but I have to get caught up!! Christmas was wonderful this year...lots of excitement and fun with our families. Christmas Eve we went to the Children's Service at church then made Christmas cookies for Santa. The kids went to bed early, then we went to work on all the goodies. We love playing Santa!! Cooper was pumped Christmas morning to see that Santa came! He and Maggie played with their toys, opened presents from us, then we headed to the Bailey's for a yummy breakfast and more presents. The Baileys are so generous and we all racked up!

The Bell Center

Maggie receives therapy two times a week at The Bell Center in Homewood. The center provides early intervention services for children up to three years old who are at risk for any kind of developmental delay. Maggie loves going to the Bell Center and "playing" with her therapists. They really have taught me so much on caring for Maggie and have especially been a big help now that our girl is pulling up onto her knees, and sometimes even her feet...eek!! Right now her therapy is one on one, but soon she will be in a group with other children for group time. I cannot wait for her to be able to interact with other children and be able to gain support from other parents. The Bell Center and their loving staff works wonders for these little miracles!

The Mercedes Marathon and Half Marathon in February is the Bell Center's largest fundraiser of the year. They have a program called Partners in Training (PIT) where individuals or relay teams are paired up with a child and run in honor of that child. They receive lots of nutrition and running tips, and even train together. Each runner or team sets a goal to raise $100 per mile that goes directly to the Bell Center. I was so excited to learn that Bevin Keene, a friend I cheered with in High School, was a volunteer and PIT relay runner and chose to run the Marathon in honor of Maggie! So special! I had planned on emailing friends and family about helping in their fundraising efforts, but after our AMAZING fundraiser surprise in November put on by our friends, I didn't feel right asking for donations. But, I really want to help Bevin and her relay team reach their goal and since the funds they raise go directly to the Bell Center (not for Maggie), I thought I would post the link to their fundraising site. If you feel led, I know they would appreciate your support...big or small. I'm so thankful to them for all they do for the Bell Center!

Happy Birthday Harrison!

Our nephew Harrison turned one on December 16th, and had an awesome birthday party on the 18th to celebrate! The party was at our church and was sock monkey themed. Everything was super cute with lots of detail...great job mama Caroline! We love our sweet, cuddly Harrison!
